The Tide community is partnering with Love The Oceans

A nonprofit in the Jangamo province of Mozambique, to establish kayak-powered fishing projects along the coast. The value of transitioning away from unsustainable fishing, such as gill netting, to the much more sustainable kayak pole and line fishing, is already being demonstrated in Guinjata, a Jangamo village that is home to the region’s first kayak-powered fishing operation. Guinjata Fishing Chief Gemo Guilamba will aid the joint effort to help local communities sustainably harvest protein from the sea—a win for the ocean and the people who depend upon it.
