It is a news revealed by our colleagues of Les Nouvelles de Mayotte: Sebastien Lecornu, French Minister for Overseas Territories, will not come to Mayotte anytime soon. He was unable to travel to Mayotte to mark the tenth anniversary of its departmentalization last April and had then exchanged by videoconference on March 31st with elected officials from Mayotte – members of parliament, mayors, vice-president of the departmental council. During this videoconference, he announced the tabling of a bill specific to Mayotte “before the end of the five-year term” as well as his upcoming visit on 6 and 7 July. To be continued…
