On the occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on April 28, Kolos is organizing a week of training, sharing, workshops and awareness raising exercises.
The company is announcing a record number of days without a workplace accident.

On April 24, the cement manufacturer launched its week of activities. On the program: training and awareness workshops on a safe and healthy work environment. Various topics such as road safety or first aid training will be addressed. One of Kolos’ safety projects is the Red Hat Initiative. This year, participants in the Kolos Red Hat Initiative will also have the opportunity to share their experiences with their colleagues. Launched in 2021, the initiative increases employee responsibility and engagement in workplace security. Participants took on the role of a health and safety officer at Kolos for a week before reporting their recommendations to the health and safety department.
In addition, the company also conducts practical exercises on simulated first aid, confined space rescue, electrocution and defibrillator training. A wellness session for employees is also planned, including an eye and dental consultation and a nutrition workshop led by a dietician. “We have had no lost-time injuries for 422 days as of April 27, 2023. We intend to surpass our record of 1,352 days without a lost time accident (achieved in 2013) and make health and safety at Kolos a collective responsibility,” concludes Dominique Billon, Managing Director of Kolos Cement Ltd.
