After two years of work, the Beau Plan region in the north-west of the country is being transformed into a space dedicated to Live – Work – Learn – Create.

That is the slogan that runs alongside this ambitious project, which should set a standard, as Nicolas Eynaud, General Manager of Novaterra (the real estate department of the Terra group), summarises. According to him: “…new challenges await us. In the idea that the city must above all be designed for the men, women and children who live in it, we aim to deploy a strategy of social integration through employment and training, as well as to make the transition to more ecological lifestyles: pedestrian walkways, selective sorting, reuse of recycled materials and many other avenues are being developed or studied to transform our way of consuming and living in the city. This new kind of smart city will open its doors to the public on the 24th of June.

Intermart expands to the Mahogany Shopping Promenade

The 9th Intermart shop in Mauritius will open in the heart of the Smart City of Beau Plan on the 24th of June. The supermarket chain has chosen the Mahogany Shopping Promenade as the ideal location in the north of the country. As part of the sustainable development policy advocated by the shopping centre, the chain has invested in new technologies in order to reduce the environmental footprint of its activities to a minimum. The shop will be the first to be equipped with a 100% natural gas refrigeration system. It will also feature some of the new design features introduced by its partner Intermarché in France.
