The exhibition, which brings together some thirty artists, is distinguished by its multi-trend side. A melting pot of creativity which constitutes the philosophy of the organising association We arts community, as explained by its co-founder Sophie Herbu : “we created this association a few months ago in order to offer interested rooms exhibitions that are a little offbeat, without specific themes or trends but on the contrary a mixture of styles from very different artists ”.
In fact, in the shade of the sumptuous room located in the patio of the very trendy “246 Edith Cavell Court”, creations by Laurie Castel and Sebastien Tahucatte rub shoulders.

Mix of styles
Laurie Castel is a graphic designer and works with computers like everyone else.  But her pleasure is elsewhere when it comes to walking in the mountains, sketchbook in hand, ready to capture the outlines of an image in a light version that she will use later in an HD version : “I draw this small picture. that I will paint later in my studio, larger and using a mixture of acrylics and India ink, with a calligraphic pen for more details… ”

Note that the co-founders of We Art Community are 5 Mauritians and French.

They are planning a next exhibition on February 14 at Caudan Art C enter (Port Louis) which will also see a mix of styles with slam and live painting.
